📜Voting & Governance
Voting, and allowing for participation in the governance of the protocol is one of the core utilities of the HELIX token, and empowers holders with a say in the future direction of the platform.
As the project matures and evolves, we will integrate HELIX-based voting into more core operations of the project and will move towards further decentralization in a progressive way.
For ease of use, a native voting portal has been provided for the governance of Helix, which can be found at Helix.finance/voting
Governance In An interconnected Ecosystem
Governance of an integrated platform retains the same structure as that of any other DeFi protocol, with investors (holders of the governance token) being able to signal their sentiment on any future changes for the platform.
Each platform within the ecosystem manages its own governance, with the protocols all working towards a similar result, though retaining their structure, and holder rights. In this way, the decentralization of a) the platform, and b) the ecosystem, are not hampered.
Got a suggestion you would like to see implemented on the platform? Community proposals are the best way of seeing how other holders feel about the idea!
Types Of Proposal
Core/Team: Core proposals are initiated by the Geometry/Helix team and will be enacted upon a successful vote. Community: Community proposals are initiated by members of the Helix-holding community and are a great way to discover the sentiment around a future change to the platform. Not all Community proposals are enacted but if there is significant support, and the proposal makes sense for the platform, we're all ears!
Requirements To Participate In Voting
All holders of the HELIX governance token are offered the opportunity to partake in the governance of the platform, with voting power weighted depending on the amount of HELIX held in the wallet used. (Voting power is displayed at the time of vote confirmation)
To take part in any governance proposal, holders must vote within the allocated period, which will be displayed on the proposal tab.
Requirements To Submit A Community Proposal
Anyone with the required amount of HELIX can create a community proposal.
