What Is Phantom

Phantom is a Web3, decentralized wallet that makes it easy to send, receive, and store tokens and NFTs on the Solana blockchain.

Working in much the same way as Metamask, the wallet connects users with the DApps available on-chain, and features a decentralized exchange, and staking platform for SOL tokens. For Geobot holders, or future holders, the Phantom wallet is an ideal choice, and even allows you to see your Geobot collection in the wallet!

To buy and stake a Geobot NFT on Helix you will need a decentralized wallet on Solana, Phantom is a great choice for beginner, and pro users.

Phantom Wallet Setup

Navigate to https://phantom.app/download, beware of phishing scams and always double check the URL.

Phantom wallet is supported on all of the major browsers, for this example we will be using Brave.

Select the "Download" tab, which will direct you to the Chrome store. Ensure you are on the correct extension, Phantom should have 2mil + users.

Install the Phantom browser extension (add to Brave)

Select "Create a new wallet", and enter a password (make sure you store it offline somewhere safe) and continue to follow the on-screen prompts. Make a hard copy of your secret recovery phrase. This acts as the key to your decentralized wallet, not to mention your Geobots… so guard it well. Unlike Metamask there is no test to ensure you have your secret phrase correctly stored.

When setup is complete, pin the Phantom extension to your extensions tab for easy access. Next steps are funding your wallet, this can be done easiest by visiting a centralized exchange to buy with FIAT, which you can then send to your Phantom wallet. Don't forget to acquire SOL, which is the native cryptocurrency of the Solana blockchain, and is needed for gas.

With your wallet funded you're ready to buy your first Geobot from the secondary market on Solana.
