FAQs

What Is Multi-Chain DeFi, & What Are The Benefits?

Multi-chain DeFi platforms enable users to connect with multiple distinct blockchains, allowing for the generation of yield, speculation on native assets, and any other activity permitted.

Designed for the purpose of improving on the limitations of earlier systems, multi-chain DeFi platforms facilitate access to the wider DeFi ecosystem, and its many networks. This provides the user with multiple benefits, including increased exposure to potential projects, higher capital efficiency, and greater use of their assets.

Which Networks can I Use On Helix?

Currently Helix supports ETH, RSK, BSC, and OKC, with partial SOL integration for the Geobot NFTs through the Nexus bridge. In the future we aim to integrate Solana fully, along with other protocols.

Supported chains can be found in the "Supported networks" section.

How Can I Switch Between Different Chains?

To swap your current chain on Helix, navigate to the networks tab at the top of the page, and select your desired option. Further info can be found in the "Changing networks on Helix" section.

Do I Need A New Wallet On Each Network?

Metamask is a multi-chain wallet that provides support on each blockchain in which Helix has a presence, meaning there is no need to create a new wallet, and you retain the same address on each network.

To add a new chain to your Metamask select the network tab at the top of the wallet display and choose the "Add Network" tab. Finally, use the specific details for each, outlined in Supported networks.

The HELIX token uses a different contract address for each and will need to be added. Details for this, and the CA for each, can be found in the contracts section of the docs.

Will I Need Funds On Each Network?

In addition to any assets you would like to deposit, stake, and trade, interacting on each network will incur gas fees, payable in the native currency. For Ethereum this is ETH, the BNB Smart Chain requires BNB, and so on.

Additional information can be found in the supported networks section.

I Have HELIX On One Chain, Can I Use It On Another?

Helix utilizes the Multichain router to enable efficient and seamless bridging of the HELIX governance token, allowing for its use on the various networks in which we have a presence.

A step-by-step guide to bridging HELIX can be found in the Bridging HELIX section of the docs.

Why Have You Chosen To Integrate The Current Networks, & Will There Be Others?

Each network we have chosen to integrate has been determined due to its various benefits, and the potential for platform and ecosystem growth.

For example, whilst much of the total DeFi TVL resides on Ethereum, making it an essential deployment for Helix, the space is congested with platforms, and the opportunity for mass adoption is greatly restricted. Other networks, however, such as RSK and OKC, offer the chance for the platform, and our team, to provide unique services and innovations to users, and aid in the growth of the overall ecosystem in a positive and meaningful way.
